  • Research Summary:

The mission of the Biomedical Informatics Lab (BMIL) is to design cost-effective, computational decision aids for diagnosis, treatment, and management of disease. The BMIL develops decision support systems for clinical decision making and scientific discovery using artificial intelligence and signal processing technologies. Examples of current BMIL projects include computer-aided diagnosis of breast cancer from medical imaging exams (e.g., mammography, MRI), computational aids for decisions about breast cancer treatment that include quantitative measures of the expected changes to the survivor's appearance, and computational methods for identifying biomarkers from genomic and proteomic analyses.
