Location and Directions

The Louise and James Robert Moffett Molecular Biology Building houses the offices and primary facilities of the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology. This distinctive building is located at the corner of Speedway and Dean Keeton (26th Street). It is across Speedway from the Robert Lee Moore Hall (mathematics) and the J. T. Patterson Laboratories Building (zoology). Anna Hiss Gymnasium is directly to the west, and the Experimental Science Building adjoins it to the South.

To reach the institute by car, take the 26th Street exit from Interstate Highway 35. Travel west to Speedway (approximately 5 blocks) and turn left. The building will be on your right. You can secure a visitor's parking pass and directions to an appropriate parking space from the guard station. The Louise and James Robert Moffett Molecular Biology Building is also conveniently located within a short walk of the parking garage on San Jacinto and other faculty, staff, and student parking areas.
The city of Austin is an amazing host for the institute. With it's billing as "The Live Music Capitol of the World", in addition to being the state capitol of Texas, there is something here for everyone to appreciate.
